Meet the Candidates
Executive Board
Executive President
Jazzy Compton
Political Communication
Class of 2028
My name is Jazzy, I’m a political communication student at Emerson, and I plan on running for Executive President for SGA 2026-2027! I have been a member of SGA since October 2024, serving as the First Generation/Low Income student experience senator. I’m always running around Emerson, since I am also committed to student-led initiatives on campus promoting equity with CPLA, PPGA, and the student pantry. Student Government has provided so much opportunity, comfort, and joy to me in my time at Emerson College. I hope to help cultivate the Emerson community into one that is made up of loud and proud Emersonians committing to belonging and empowerment. As President, I will commit to uplifting underrepresented and unheard voices on and off Emerson College’s campus. Together, we will make strides towards making sure Emersonians know they will always have SGA in their corner!
Solidad Augustin
Public Relations
Class of 2026
Hi everyone! My name is Solidad Augustin, and I am a third-year student passionate about advocacy, transparency, and building meaningful community on campus. I previously served in SGA as Chief Justice, where I worked to uphold fairness, accountability, and the integrity of our governing processes. That experience gave me a deeper understanding of how SGA operates behind the scenes, what works well, what can improve, and how important clear communication is between student leaders and the student body. My journey has not been linear. As a first-generation college student who had to restart my academic path, I understand what it feels like to navigate systems that are not always clear or accessible. That perspective drives my commitment to making student government more transparent and approachable. If elected, my priority is simple: make SGA more visible, more responsive, and more connected to you. Too many students do not fully know what SGA does or how to get involved. I want to increase awareness during elections, strengthen collaboration between organizations and administration, and create clearer channels for students to share their concerns and ideas. Leadership, to me, is not about holding a title. It is about service, integrity, and action. With experience, perspective, and a genuine commitment to this campus, I am ready to represent you and help build an SGA that truly works for all of us. Let’s lead with transparency. Let’s lead together.
Executive Vice President
Charlotte Cocozza
Media Studies
Class of 2027
Hello! My name is Charlotte Cocozza, and I’m a Media Studies major in the class of 2027. Over the past two years, I’ve had the privilege of serving as SGA’s LGBTQ+ Senator, and that experience has shown me just how powerful student voices can be when they’re truly heard. I’m running for Vice President because I want to strengthen the connection between students, SGA, and the administration, making sure every Emersonian knows what’s available to them and how to access it. Emerson offers an incredible range of resources: from identity-based support spaces and career development tools to creative production opportunities and student organizations. But too often, students don’t hear about these resources until it’s too late, or don’t know how to navigate them in the first place. As Vice President, I want to prioritize clearer communication, more visible outreach, and consistent updates about what Emerson provides and how students can take advantage of it. Access only matters if people know it exists. My involvement across campus has given me a broad perspective on student life. I’m active in student theater, have worked on Emerson Channel productions, and collaborated on independent sets. I recently hosted Lavender Underground, bringing students together to celebrate queer joy and community. These experiences have connected me to students from all different majors, interests, and backgrounds. That diversity of involvement helps me understand the wide range of needs within our student body. As Vice President, I want SGA to feel approachable and present. We are not just a governing body, but strive to be a consistent and accessible part of campus life. By fostering open dialogue with administration and creating more transparent channels for feedback, I will work to ensure students feel both informed and represented. I would be honored to serve as Vice President and continue advocating for a campus where every student feels seen, supported, and connected. Thank you for your consideration!
Executive Treasurer
Ruben Gonzales Jr
Class of 2028
Hi everyone! My name is Ruben Gonzales Jr. and I am running for SGA Treasurer. I currently serve as a sophomore representative on the Financial Advisory Board, where I have worked directly with student funding and seen how financial decisions shape campus events, organizations, and overall student culture. I want to be Treasurer because I care about making sure funding supports what matters to Emerson students. Clubs, initiatives, and programs build our community, and I want our resources to reflect student priorities. This role is not just about managing a budget. It is about supporting people and helping ideas turn into real experiences on campus. If elected, I will prioritize transparency and student focused funding. I would truly appreciate your support.
Soham Gupta
Major
Class of 2029
I am a leader. I love to take charge and guide people in a team. I love to be someone they can trust, belief and know that can lead them. It gives me a sense of movement and evolution. To execute my ideas with the help of people and get them as involved as possible. My goal is to get people to reach a place higher than themselves and I take it upon me to do that job. Skills like collaboration, team work and creative are second nature to me. I have been able to put these skills into issue by being Class President for the Freshmen Class over the year 25-26. I have been able to bring people together across our events to help elevate unity of students on our campus and help people feel a sense of belonging. I hope to continue this mission as I remove peopel feeling lonely on campus and help them feel that they too have friend and loved ones. To make Emerson an Alma Mater that they can look back upon fondly. My name is Soham Gupta, and I am standing for the position of Class President ’29.
Amybeth Campbell
Major
Class of 2027
Budgets aren’t boring. They’re how we’re able to say “yes” to each other. I’m Amybeth, and I’m running for Executive Treasurer to make funding clear, fair, and rooted in the Emerson community. With decades of professional financial experience managing payroll, reconciling accounts, and overseeing operational budgets, I understand what responsible stewardship truly requires. Transparency builds trust, and trust builds strong communities. As a transfer student in my second act, I came to Emerson with honed skills and a deep appreciation for the opportunity to use them in service of this community. I’ve balanced systems professionally, and I’ve experienced what it feels like to enter a new institution and quickly learn how everything works. Funding processes should feel accessible, supportive, and grounded in fairness. Student fees power the clubs, events, and initiatives that help people find belonging and bring ideas to life. As Executive Treasurer, I will prioritize open communication, clear guidelines, and equitable allocation so every organization feels confident navigating the process. I’m also interested in exploring collaborative partnerships with alumni and campus offices to expand funding pathways for emerging and first-time initiatives. Emerson has a powerful alumni network, and I believe there is real potential to connect alumni support with student creativity in ways that grow opportunity without increasing financial burden. Strong systems with open communication. All ideas, big and small, fully supported. Make no mistake: when our resources reflect our values, creativity isn’t going to be competing for space. It’ll be fully supported. And when creativity is supported, we don’t just balance budgets. We shape culture through community.

Marketing communication Senator
Blake Bailey
Class of 2027
Emerson is a school of niches, and I have spent my time here trying to live at the intersections. I am a marketing major with a minor in economics, so I have a basic understanding of the world of strategy. I am a walk-on member of the Lions basketball team, so I have a basic understanding of the hustle that it takes to earn your own keep around here. I have been an actor in student films and an improv member with student groups, so I have a basic understanding of the creative soul of this school. Working my way through these various corners, from the gym to the soundstage, has also taught me something very important: our class is full of untapped potential, and we tend to keep our own company. My goal is to bridge this divide. I am running for this office because I want to help create more opportunities for our worlds to intersect. This may mean working together more, creating events that actually appeal to our unique interests, or even just making sure we know what’s happening along Boylston Street in a more streamlined way, so we can stop being a series of separate departments. Leadership, to me, is not defined by a title. Leadership is defined by listening, organizing, and making good ideas happen. And that is why I want to represent our class with the same passion and ingenuity you show every day for your projects. Let’s make the most of our time here, together. I’d be honored to have your support.
performing arts Senator
Amybeth Campbell
Class of 2027
Also running for Executive office Class of 2027 office.
Maya Weitz
Class of 2029
Hi, I’m Maya Weitz (Theatre & Performance, Class of 2029), and I’m running to continue serving as Performing Arts Senator. This year, I’ve worked to represent the students who make Emerson’s performing arts community what it is: the actors, dancers, musicians, designers, technicians, and creators who spend countless hours in studios, rehearsal rooms, and performance spaces. Serving in this role has shown me how much potential we have when communication is clear, collaboration is encouraged, and student concerns are taken seriously. As both a theatre major and an active member of performing arts organizations on campus, I understand the day-to-day realities of our work: scheduling challenges, space limitations, resource concerns, and the constant balancing act between academics and art. I want to continue advocating for more transparency between SGA and performing arts orgs, stronger cross-department collaboration, and practical solutions that directly benefit student artists. If re-elected, my priorities are: Improving communication between student orgs, faculty, and SGA; Advocating for accessible rehearsal and performance resources; Supporting large-scale, inclusive events that bring different arts communities together; Making sure student feedback leads to real action. I believe leadership is about consistency and follow-through. I want to keep showing up, asking questions, and making sure the performing arts community feels supported and represented. I’d be honored to continue doing this work for you.
Film, Television, and Media Arts Senator
Sophia Jade Kong
Class of 2028
Also running for Executive office and Class of 2028 office.
Mya Wurie
Class of 2028
Hello everyone! My name is Mya Wurie, I am a sophomore Media Arts Production major, and I would love to represent Emerson’s School of Film as the Film, Television, and Media Arts Senator! My interests within the department mostly lie in screenwriting, but also in directing and producing. I have enjoyed learning how to be a better filmmaker and storyteller so much, and I want to be the senator who can help others have as much of a fulfilling experience within the department as I have so far. Whether you are interested in media studies, sound editing, production design, or cinematography, as your Academic Senator, I will be an open ear to advocate for you and what you want and need to change within the department. In my short time as the Deputy SOF Senator to the current Senator, Carlson Jones, I have had the honor of being a part of the SOF Dean’s Advisory Council and attending many SGA meetings, which has shown me that having your peers understand and champion issues you have with the department and college as a whole is incredibly powerful and affirming. I want to continue to be a part of that advocacy and its essentiality to the Emerson community. In my time as your SOF senator, I also hope to continue the work the current senator and I are doing to promote production sustainability efforts throughout the college. Additionally, some of the best times I have had during my time at Emerson have been meeting and collaborating with my peers, working on student-run sets. I want to continue to foster those opportunities to create really valuable friendships and partnerships, as they are such valuable assets to what the SOF community at Emerson is. Thank you so much for your consideration!

Business of Creative Enterprise Senator
Nora Iadarola
Class of 2029
Hi! I’m Nora Iadarola, and I’m running to be your Business of Creative Enterprises senator in SGA this year. BCE students are innovators and collaborators, who have goals and achievements that range from producing films to publishing novels to hosting radio shows. There’s not just one word that can sum up the Business of Creative Enterprises student community. My goal in SGA is simple: make sure that this incredible community is represented, supported, and has the resources it needs to achieve its goals. I intend to advocate for the needs of BCE students in all aspects of student government, whether that means representing the community at SGA assemblies or working behind the scenes with program administrators. I’m passionate about helping Business of Creative Enterprises students get the most out of their Emerson experience. One of the reasons the BCE program is so special is the access that students have to professional networking, business development, and collaborative opportunities both within and outside of Emerson. I want to help expand access to these opportunities, whether it’s by organizing mixers, connecting students with campus resources, or creating spaces for students to professionally connect. My goal is to help BCE students reach theirs. My purpose as your senator is to represent the ideas of BCE students, and ensure that the Student Government Association is accessible and makes a positive impact on students’ everyday lives. You deserve a senator that will actively build community and follow through on promises – not just during campaigning season, but throughout the entire year. If elected, I will continue to work with and for the BCE community, so that every student in this incredible program can thrive both at Emerson and beyond.
Journalism Senator
Jules Telfort
Class of 2028
As a Black Haitian woman and student journalist, my goal is to make sure that all journalists, but especially BIPOC journalists, are seen and are able to get the same opportunities as every other journalist and student. Although people of color are in the minority here at Emerson College, that does not mean that we don’t deserve for our voices to be heard and to see ourselves represented in the people who lead this school. In my time at SGA, I pledge to be a representative for Black journalists, making sure to share their opinions and thoughts, and to always be accessible to anyone who wishes to speak their mind. Representation and visibility of the underrepresented and overlooked is important to me, and as your Journalism Senator, I will facilitate real change here on this campus and in this institution.

Levi Armstrong
Class of 2027
Hello rising seniors! My name is Levi Armstrong, and I’m running for my third term as Class of 2027 president because this is the year that is most important in our college experience, and I believe that I am the right person to deliver the best year for us. I am a political communications major, and comedy writing-and-performance minor. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time on SGA so far, and am proud of the work I’ve accomplished thus far. Throughout my last two terms as president, me and my co-president Riley Miller have put together experiences that brought our class together, used our budget wisely, and in a way that has kept our class in good economic standing, and created a beautiful community in the class of 2027. That being said, the best is yet to come. In the next year, I’ll plan a senior week that leaves lasting memories for all those graduating, and ensure that our last year at Emerson has an impact that will stay with you long after we walk the graduation stage. I humbly ask for your vote in my reelection to continue to lead our class and make sure that your senior experience at Emerson is the absolute best it can be.

Sophia Jade Kong
Class of 2028
Class of 2028, I’m Sophia-Jade, and I’m running for your Class President. This past term, it’s been genuinely meaningful to serve you and help organize events like final care package with free movie ticket giveaway. Hearing your feedback and seeing people show up made all the work worth it. Based on what many of you shared, we’re planning another event in March, this time with good food, as a way to keep creating spaces where we can relax and connect. I know sophomore year can be stressful, and I want our class events to be a real break from that pressure, moments where we can just breathe and be together. At the same time, I know many of us will be shifting our focus toward internships, networking, and planning what comes next in our junior year. My goal is to support both: building community through fun, low-pressure events while also creating opportunities that help us grow. I care deeply about this class and this community. I would love the chance to continue serving you, and I hope you’ll give me another opportunity to do so.
Vivienne Felber
Class of 2028
There is nothing I enjoy more than giving back to a community that has helped shape and define who I am. During my time at Emerson College, I have strived to learn, adapt, and grow in my environment. I have joined multiple organizations where I have held multiple leadership positions that have taught me how to take a proactive and hard-working approach to multiple tasks. Emerson College is a place filled with so many different and unique voices. We must listen to each and every voice we can. We must speak up for the voices that are too scared to speak. We must continue to develop Emerson College into the best place it can be. Being Student Body President at my high school, I learned how to lead an effective student body that was able to hone its own talented and unique skills, and I want nothing more than to continue to learn how to lead. Sometimes it can feel so hard to speak up for something you want to see changed, and sometimes even if you do, you won’t be listened to. I plan to hear every voice that speaks up and to find the voices that are too scared and guide them to their goals, advocating for each and every voice I can. This will not be an experience that’s only beneficial to you, but it will also be very beneficial for me. I will be able to grow skills that I have worked so hard to create. If you provide the opportunity for me to grow my skills and learn in ways I have always dreamed about, you will not regret it.
